Pet Portraits are done from photos that are emailed to me. Here are some key things to think about when you are choosing the images to send to me:
- The higher the resolution, the better!
- Make sure that the pets eyes are clearly visible in the image. If I can get the eyes right, the rest falls into place! Dark colored animals are the hardest. Find images where the light source is shining on the animal, not backlit.
- Be sure to let me know if you do or do not want certain details included, such as collars, favorite toys, etc.
- Provide a selection of images for me to choose from if possible. This makes the process easier if I can choose the image that I think will make the best composition. However, if there is a particular image that you think captures their personality best, let me know.
Pricing
I have set pricing for the most commonly requested sizes, but I am able to accommodate sizes not listed.
An 8×10 painting (frames to 11×14) – starts at $150.
An 11×14 painting(frames to 16×20) – starts at $200.
If a complicated background is to be included, then the cost will increase.
Medium
Most of the time the client leaves the choice of medium to me as the artist. Most of my portraits have been done in mixed media (watercolor, colored pencil and acrylic). Sometimes someone wants a black and white drawing, either pen and ink or pencil. If you have a particular medium in mind, please let me know.
